Government says it will continue to engage Zimbabweans in the diaspora as they have a key role to play in the country’s economic growth.
This was said by Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga when he addressed Zimbabweans living in the United Arab Emirates this Monday.
Zimbabwe has a vibrant pool of people living in the diaspora and this includes those living in Dubai. The second republic has placed special emphasis on bringing them on board in the rebuilding of the economy.
Spread across different sectors, Zimbabweans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed their interest to be part of the country’s economic revival efforts when they met Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga in Dubai this Monday.
Mines And Mining Development Minister Honorable Winston Chitando is equally convinced that Zimbabweans in the diaspora have a role to play in the envisaged 12 billion United States Dollar Mining Industry by 2023, while the country’s Ambassador to the UAE Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo noted the need to promote a positive image of the country.
Zimbabweans in the diaspora can join the mining sector through acquisitions of claims or partnering those with claims already, he said.
Vice President Chiwenga, emphasised the need for Zimbabweans in the diaspora and those back home to unite in pursuing economic growth.
The government is keen to continue engaging you , because you are key to sustainable rebuilding of the economy, he noted.
The Vice President also indicated government’s determination to achieve vision 2030.
Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube also spoke on various investment opportunities the country offers in different sectors.
