AS the Expo 2020 Dubai enters its second week, the Zimbabwean pavilion continues to generate a lot of interest, with officials saying the country is well-positioned to court many investors at one of the world’s biggest expos.
The Zimbabwean flag hoisted among a host of others representing countries participating at the Expo 2020 Dubai is the first tease of what can be expected when one steps into the huge pavilion.
For regulars and first-timers, the feeling of expectation is high and the Zimbabwean pavilion is living to its billing.
The little girl enjoying playing the hosho as she gets a taste of the Zimbabwean culture, and the business entities making enquiries on the commercial prospects the country has to offer, highlight what will be taking place at the expo for the next six months.
Zimbabwe Commissioner General for the Expo Ambassador Mary Mubi says as the country pursues vision 2030 under the new dispensation, the exhibition serves as a platform to further attract investments.
“The importance of the Dubai expo is we have to look at it in the context of the initiative of the second republic to further the engagement process and this is an important platform to do that. We are exhibiting under the opportunities cluster so we excite the people,” said Ambassador Mary Mubi, Zimbabwe Commissioner General for Dubai Expo
The Expo is also a platform for Zimbabwe to tell its story.
Among the key highlights for next week is the Global Business Forum Africa which Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga is set to attend.
“It will allow us to highlight what we have as a country. We believe that this program will be exciting.”
With 192 countries participating at the Expo, each nation is being given a day where they take the center stage and Zimbabwe will have its day on the 14th of March next year.
