President Emmerson Mnangagwa has commissioned a new production line for bottled water & cordials at Varun Beverages Zimbabwe Pvt. Ltd.
The commissioning of the plant speaks to increased investor appetite as evidenced by recent investments that are happening across all sectors of the economy including the Seedco Maize Conditioning Plant, Verify Engineering Medical Oxygen and Industrial gas plant in Mutare, Larfage’s dry Mortar Plant among others.
Economic observers have attributed the development to an enabling environment brought about by the macroeconomic stability which has been a priority area for the Second Republic supported by economic blueprints such as the National Development Strategy One.
Also in attendance was the of Minister of Industry and Commerce Hon Sekai Nzenza and the Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Hon Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.
The new Production line for bottled water has a production capacity of 400 bottle per minute while the whole Varun Beverages plant’s production capacity now stands at 60 million bottles and cans per month
This is a five time capacity increase in the last 2 years
