THE national Under-20 volleyball team has stepped up preparations for the Africa Union Sports Council Region Five games slated for Lesotho in December.
The resumption of sport has come at an opportune time for the National Under -20 Volleyball team set for a maiden dance at the Africa Union Sports Council Region Five games which will be held in Lesotho at the end of the year.
What is even more encouraging is that there is ample time to build a formidable side as alluded to by Zimbabwe Volleyball Association Secretary-General Kenneth Kondo.
“We are currently in the process of preparing our under 20 volleyball teams for the African Union Sports Council Region Five games. Our technical teams are working flat out to ensure that we have a successful tour in December.”
The volleyball mother body is also engaging the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee to assist with support services needed for the athletes in terms of physiotherapy, camping and other basic necessities.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Zone Six Volleyball Club championships and the beach Volleyball tournaments set to be held before the end of the year are on course.
