EXHIBITORS are expecting a successful Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, riding on an improved economic growth prospects and a bumper harvest.
As the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show kicked off this Monday, the importance of the annual platform towards increasing returns and value to exhibitors is under the spotlight.
While the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) has revealed in a statement that the show seeks to bring together businesses, new and established, and to reach out to potential customers, exhibitors at this year’s event outlined their expectations.
“We hope it will be a platform that can enable us to derive the maximum benefits taking into account the success of the farming season,” said one exhibitor.
“It should not just be talk show but an event that can help us to explore further business growth opportunities and how we can sustain business in the future,” said another exhibitor.
Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andrew Matibiri revealed at a press briefing this Monday commitment by the authorities to ensure success and growth of businesses for exhibitors.
“On the ground vigorous activities and spirited efforts by all stakeholders from various sectors of the economy are evidently pointing towards a successful show. Space uptake to date is 50 500 square metres compared to 40 200 square metres last year,” he said.
A mining conference will be held on Tuesday with the official opening being planned for this Thursday, while the annual National Agri-Business Conference has been lined up for Friday.
This year’s Zimbabwe Agricultural Show is also being held in line with the COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
