In Group two of the Chibuku Super Cup, Chicken Inn and Highlanders are in a commanding position to make it to the quarter-finals if they pick up from where they left off before the tournament was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Chicken Inn who play Bulawayo City on Wednesday might be in for some rude awakening with City confident of executing a giant-killing act.
“We are no longer carrying the same tag of being underdogs as we are ready for our first set of full points,” said Philani Ncube, Bulawayo City Fc head coach.
Defending Champions, Highlanders who are second in the group with seven points, will face Bulawayo Chiefs high on confidence after the multi-million dollar financial injection from energy company Sakunda Holdings.
“We want to defend the title that’s our major aim so expect nothing short than a victory when we face Bulawayo Chiefs,” said Mandla Mpofu, Highlanders Football club head coach.
On the other hand, Chiefs are also self-assured in a bid to turn around their fortunes.
“We want to turn the situation because we still have the chance to make it into the quarter-finals,” said Dumisani Sibanda, Bulawayo Chiefs Secretary-General.
All matches in group two will be played at Barbourfields stadium.
