THE prevailing stable economic environment coupled with massive infrastructural development has propelled the local industry to focus on ensuring the growth of the country’s productive sectors in a balanced manner.
Sustainable economic development tops Zimbabwe’s industry agenda through strengthening value chains across all sectors.
This was confirmed by Captains of Industry at the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo this Wednesday.
The industry is targeting high productivity and improved capacity utilisation to drive Zimbabwe’s economic engine towards the attainment of National Development Strategy One objectives.
“As the country’s industry we are taking it upon ourselves to determine the destiny of this nation after the government has come on board in the creation of an enabling environment, which should be utilised for the betterment of the country,” said Kurai Matsheza, CZI president.
“Zimbabwe has turned over to a new leaf is as far as developmental issues are concerned and as such, it is now incumbent upon the industry to create employment, increase productivity equally in all the sectors of the economy,” said Busisa Moyo, ZITF Chairman.
Industry notes with satisfaction significant strides made towards bringing balance in economic development by the government, hence private sector collaboration and participation will add to the already well-oiled momentum.
