Ngezi hoping to continue where they left off as Chibuku Cup resumes

By ZBC Reporter

High flying Mhondoro based premier soccer league side, Ngezi Platinum stars are hoping to continue from where they left off when the Chibuku Super Cup resumes next week.

The Mhondoro Ngezi based outfit was on top of the log standings in Group 4 when the Chibuku Super Cup was halted due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Things have changed in the dressing room though with Ngezi Platinum having lost utility player, Gerald Takwara, who has joined Chippa United of South Africa.

However, the club has offset that departure by signing Ghanaian Derrick Bonnah, while midfielder, Last Jesi who is back in the country after a stint in Sudan is also training with the team.

We have done the best we could, we are not thinking that we were on top of the table that can disturb us and make complacency creep into our camp for us we are starting afresh, said the team’s Head Caoach Rodwell Dhlakama

The Chibuku Super Cup will resume on the 29th of this month with Herentals and ZPC Kariba getting the ball rolling in an early kick off set for the National Sports Stadium.

The other matches set for 11am on the same day include the encounter between Craneborne Bullets and Manica Diamonds at Sakunda as well as Triangle and Ngezi Platinum at Mandava.

There are several other matches at various venues around the country on the same day while Thursday the 30th of September will see CAPS United clashing with Harare City at the National Sports Stadium as Highlanders face Bulawayo Chiefs at Babourfields.
