Young women in Bulawayo say they are ready to unleash their full potential in contributing to national economic growth.
This came out during the Young Women for ED (YW4ED)(Economic Development) in Bulawayo this Monday.
The discussions also centred on the potential of women in substantially contributing to sustainable economic growth.
As young women, we have undoubted capacity that we can be key agents of development in this country. The joyride is over for us women as we need to be on the forefront pushing forward the economic agenda envisaged by our people and government, said Tatenda Mavetera National Chairperson for YW4ED.
YW4ED Bulawayo Chairperson Cde Sandra Ndebele noted that women should provide practical solutions to push the nation forward.
Among us there are brilliant entrepreneurs whom we can learn from their exploits. As we embrace a pragmatic approach to be part of a solution to what we face as a nation, we need to support and empower each other with not only resources but ideas, she said.
Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Judith Ncube, who also toured projects being implemented by young women, commended the initiative, saying it will accelerate the drive towards Vision 2030.
This is a new concept which gives energy to you young women to be part of the economic affairs of this great country. The women for ED initiative is a noble concept which calls for support from every progressive Zimbabwean, said Ncube.
The women for ED initiative was launched by the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa in August this year.
