Zimbabwean golfer, Scott Vincent continued with his impressive form after completing his second victory in three weeks at the ANA Open in Japan.
After winning the Asian Open last year and representing Zimbabwe at the Olympics in Japan, Vincent, affectionately known as Mhondoro on the golfing greens, bagged the Sansan KBC Augusta, his first victory on the Japan Tour this season.
This Sunday, he made it two wins in just three starts on Tour after winning the ANA Open.
The ANA Open title is Vincent’s second win on the Japan Tour and his third international title since turning professional.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s number one ladies tennis player Valeria Bhunu lost 6-3 4-6 6-3 to Richel Hogenkamp in the final of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) South Africa Open.
Bhunu was impressive throughout the tournament but found the going tough in the final where she had nine double faults which saw her eventually settling for silver.
Still at the South Africa Open, Lock brothers Benjamin and Courtney’s quest for a gold medal in the men’s doubles was cut short in the quarter-finals after Courtney sustained an injury.
Benjamin had earlier on lost in straight sets in the singles quarter-finals.
In cricket, the victorious Lady Chevrons returned home after winning the International Cricket Council Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers in Botswana.
