FC Platinum coach, Norman Mapeza has emerged as the front runner to take up the Warriors top job after Croatian Coach Zdravko Logarusic was fired.
Tuesday came and the day is almost over with Zimbabweans still waiting for the announcement of Zdravko Logarusic’s replacement.
While there is no word from the local football mother body after promising to announce a new coach this Tuesday, it has emerged that FC Platinum Coach, Norman Mapeza is the most likely candidate with negotiations underway.
Sources say the former national team captain is, however not happy with the treatment given to local coaches and wants a package which matches his pedigree.
Mapeza is also understood to be one of the former national team coaches still owed outstanding dues from his previous stint with the Warriors.
Time is also running for ZIFA with board member and chairman of the Technical Development Committee (TDC) Brighton Malandule having initially confirmed that the interim coach would be announced this Tuesday.
Zimbabwe is set to take on Ghana on the 6th of October away from home before hosting the West African giants at the National Sports Stadium four days later.
