Zimbabwe, Ireland match called off

By Sport Editor
THE second One Day International match between Zimbabwe and Ireland has been called off due to a wet outfield.

Ireland won the toss and batted first posting a challenging 282 for 8 in their alloted 50 overs.

At the break heavy rains pounded Belfast and after a pitch inspection the umpires decided to call the game off.

Both teams will now share the points and the Chevrons will go into the final match this Sunday leading one nil and with 15 crucial Super league points in the bag.
