FC Platinum Head Coach, Norman Mapeza is satisfied with his team’s preparations ahead of their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League preliminary round tie away to Angolan side Sagrada Esperanca this weekend.
The Zvishavane based side will take on Angolan champions, Sagrada Esperanca this Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Luanda.
The defending Zimbabwean champions have been quietly going about their business after shifting base to Harare ahead of departure for Angola this Thursday.
We can’t keep on complaining about not training, this is where we’re are now so we have to survive in this environment because it’s not anyone’s fault that we have a pandemic so we have to adapt, if we want to be successful we have to fight, said Team Coach Norman Mapeza.
With the ill-treatment that characterised their last campaign still fresh in their minds, the team has engaged a psychologist.
Africa is a jungle and we have engaged a psychologist and been talking to the team to understand it although we don’t condone it and we hope CAF will address it for the development of African Football but the boys we have told them not to worry about anything,he added.
FC Platinum has a clean bill of health and all the 23 players tested negative for COVID-19 ahead of their departure for Angola via a chartered flight.
