Preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai are on course, with regulatory authorities confident of achieving set targets for attracting global projects, increasing tourist inflows and re-engaging the international community.
Zimbabwe’s Commissioner General for Expo 2020 Dubai, Ambassador Marry Mubi spelled out the thrust, vision and aims of the country’s participation during an interview during a ZBC Current Affairs programme “Face the Nation” this Tuesday.
The thrust is all about selling the country’s products and ensuring the smooth approval of projects across the globe remember we have a key thrust of ensuring that the re-engagement initiative becomes a success,she said.
Despite the Covid-19 setbacks, the expo is also anticipated to market the country’s abundant resources.
We are all working towards generating investment, boosting trade, showcasing products and opportunities remember there are 192 countries and Zimbabwe is also taking part in an expo that runs between October this year to March next year meaning lots of greater benefits to be derived,she added.
Ambassador Mubi also revealed benefits of participating at the expo.
If we can all put our minds and focus together there is no way such unity of purpose will let us down but that goes beyond such an initiative to think beyond the scope of the expo in terms of what we need to do for the benefit of the nation,said Mubi.
Various sectors including upcoming and established brands have already committed to taking part at the global event which roars into life in October this year.
