CAF Champions league: FC Platinum back in training

By Mthokozisi Dube

Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, FC Platinum are back in training ahead of the preliminary round tie away to Sagranda Esperanca of Angola.

The match is pencilled for the weekend of 10 and 12 September in Angola.

With their work cut out, the Platinum Miners have begun their preparations, hoping for nothing short of an aggregate victory for them to progress to the first round of Africa’s premier club competition.

History is, however against FC Platinum after the Zimbabwean Champions were booted out of the competition by another Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto 5-1 on aggregate in 2018.

The Zimbabwean champions are perennial campaigners on the continental stage with their group stage qualification in 2019 being a milestone achievement.
