A number of national team players have hit top form just ahead of the World Cup qualifiers with Star forward Khama Billiat and Striker Nyasha Mushekwi scoring for their respective clubs at the weekend.

Billiat was back among the goal scorers for the first time in four months after scoring Kaizer Chiefs’ equaliser albeit in vain as Amakhosi eventually lost their MTN8 encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties.

Billiat’s goal against his former club oozed class after being teed up by another former Sundowns man Keegan Dolly.

Billiat unleashed a blistering shot into the far corner that gave Zambian goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene no chance.

His comeback will surely be good news not only for Kaizer Chiefs but the Warriors with the first two world cup qualifiers set for next month.

Another Warriors striker, Tino Kadewere was introduced as a second half substitute in Lyon’s three nil loss to Angers in the French league 1.

Kadewere is back to full fitness after being sidelined for three months through injury.

Still in Ligue 1, Warriors midfielder, Marshall Munetsi was introduced as a second half substitute as his Stade de Reims drew three all with Montpellier.

Munetsi was a key cog in the team last season where he played either as a central defender and or in midfield.

In China, striker Nyasha Mushekwi scored a hat-trick for Zhejian Greentown to take his season tally to 15 goals in 18 matches in the Chinese League One.

It is the second time the big striker has notched 15 goals in China after getting to the mark in 2018 when he was on the books of Daliang Yifang in the Super league.

Mushekwi has proven to be a consistent goal scorer after scoring 13 goals last season.
