SRC okays resumption of training for teams with international assignments

FC Platinum and Black Rhinos Queens, together with 11 other national representatives have been allowed to resume training by the Sports and Recreation Commission ahead of their international assignments.
The two clubs are preparing for the Confederation of African Football interclub competitions.
Black Rhinos Queens is preparing to take part in the inaugural COSAFA Women’s Champions League set for Durban from 27th of August to the 4th of September.
On the other hand, FC Platinum is set to be part of the CAF Champions league preliminary round matches set for the 10th of next month.
Apart from the two clubs, Zimbabwe Cricket has been approved to host Thailand and Ireland in women’s One Day Internationals and T20 competitions between September and October.
The Zimbabwe Rugby Sevens side, the Cheetahs, both men and women’s, have also been allowed to resume training ahead of World Cup Qualifiers and the Dubai 7s.
Tennis Zimbabwe will also host China in the Davis Cup competition after the tournament was approved, together with the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Open set for Royal Harare next month.
The approval of these 13 team assignments is expected to pave way for the resumption of other sporting activities in line with COVID-19 protocols.
