Warriors and Lyon striker Tino Kadewere is back in action after a three month injury layoff with the lanky forward featuring in his French club’s preseason friendly against Porto at the weekend.

Kadewere who underwent a surgery in May after suffering a thigh injury was introduced in the 63rd minute in Lyon’s final pre-season friendly against Portuguese side Porto.

His return will be good news for the French club, with the league set to start this coming weekend.

Lyon will start their Ligue 1 campaign this Saturday with a date against Brest.

Elsewhere, Marvellous Nakamba continued with his solid performances in preseason when he featured for Aston Villa against Championship side Bristol City.

The Claret and Blue won three-nil, with the Warriors midfielder playing the full 90 minutes dishing out another accomplished performance.

With Douglas Luiz away at the Olympics, the Brazilian will have a big challenge to dislodge Nakamba.

In the United States, defender Teenage Hadebe played his first game at home when his club, Houston Dynamo played out a goalless draw against Real Salt Lake at BBVA stadium in Texas.

This was Hadebe’s third match since making his debut in Major league Soccer with the club having already kept two clean sheets during that period.

In South Africa, Khama Billiat was in the starting lineup in Kaizer Chief’s victory over bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black label cup.

Billiat played mainly on the left side of attack and showed some fancy footwork as he continues his recovery from a long term injury ahead of the new season which gets underway on 14th of this month.
