THE local cricket mother body, Zimbabwe Cricket, is basking in glory for having successfully hosted Bangladesh without any Covid-19 case being recorded.
Despite the drawback the sporting fraternity in Zimbabwe has been experiencing, ranging from postponements to cancellations, Zimbabwe Cricket managed to successfully host the Tigers of Bangladesh and Pakistan men and women before that.
Over the last three incoming tours, only two cases were reported after Sean Williams and Craig Ervine came in contact with family members who tested positive.
“It was really good, we managed to host the tour in these Covid times obviously as everyone knows we’re in the middle of a third wave where cases have been rising,” said Hamilton Masakadza ZC Director.
Zimbabwe Cricket and Zimbabwe Rugby Union which also hosted four Internationals this year can be used as examples of how to host international matches in this pandemic.
