WARRIORS’ midfielder, Marvellous Nakamba is heading for his third season with Aston Villa after featuring in the starting lineup for the first time in their pre-season friendly matches
Nakamba was named in the first eleven for Aston Villa’s pre-season friendly match against Walsall in which they ran away 4-0 victors this Wednesday.
Having featured mostly as a substitute in the previous season, the Zimbabwean midfielder started the preseason in the same way before he was given a chance in the starting eleven.
In France, midfielder Marshal Munetsi featured in Stade de Reims’ 2-0 victory over Champly in their second pre-season friendly match.
Munetsi was a constant feature for his club last season and there was even talk of suitors in the English premiership.
Meanwhile, Warriors captain Knowledge Musona has started training with his new club, Al-tai in the Saudi Professional league.
Elsewhere 35-year-old, Costa Nhamoinesu, who was with Kerala Blasters in India for a short stint, returned to Europe after signing a one-year contract with Polish club TSP Podbeskidzie, in the second-tier.
In South Africa, Talent Chawapiwa has signed for Premier League newcomers, Sekhukhune United on a two-year deal after leaving AmaZulu where he struggled for game time last season.
