THE Zimbabwe national cricket team, the Chevrons put on a poor batting show on day three of the test against Bangladesh to hand the ascendancy to the visitors who have a 237 run lead.
After starting the day in a comfortable position; it was an all too familiar story for Chevrons as they gave wickets away on a pitch that offered little for bowlers.
Debutant Takudzwanashe Kaitano showed his grit in a record breaking 87 as he became the first player to face more than 300 balls on debut for Zimbabwe.
However that was all in vain as his teammates threw his efforts away
Stand-in captain Brendan Taylor was first to be dismissed as he mistimed a sweep short to give his wicket away after an imprerssive 81.
Debutant Dion Myers who showed his attacking prowess was caught trying to sweep for 27.
After his dismissal the floodgates opened and Zimbabwe lost the last seven wickets for 51 runs.
Mehidy Hasan got a fiver while Shakib Hasan grabbed four wickets as Zimbabwe was dismissed for 276.
Bangladesh openers Shadman Islam and Saif Hosann negotiated the few remaining overs to close the day at 45 for no loss with a handy lead of 237 runs.
