Warriors leave for COSAFA

THE Zimbabwe senior men football team, the Warriors have left the country for South Africa ahead of the COSAFA tournament which kicks off tomorrow in Nelson Mandela Bay

The Warriors are currently in Johannesburg waiting for their connecting flight to Port Elizabeth where they are scheduled to arrive at 4pm.

The delegation includes 19 players, with Midfielder Ben Musaka expected in South this Tuesday owing to documentation issues.

Zimbabwe get their COSAFA CUP campaign underway with a date against Mozambique this Thursday, in a mid-day kick-off while Namibia take on guest nation and African giants Senegal at 3pm.

There has been a slight change to the COSAFA fixtures, following the withdrawal of Comoros, due to their government’s Covid-19 restrictions.

Only the top team in each group advances to the semi-finals, alongside with the best-placed runner-up.
