Chidzambwa, who played for Dynamos and the national team, has not been feeling well for a while and underwent surgery to remove a growth in the stomach late last year.
His death was confirmed this morning by his elder brother, Sunday, who is also a local football legend.
Misheck Chidzambwa, who played for Dynamos and the national team, made history by becoming the first captain to lift silverware, with the Warriors, when Zimbabwe won the CECEFA Senior Challenge Cup at Rufaro in 1985.
Misheck’s death comes as the football fraternity is still mourning the death of another former Warriors coach, Mick Poole (85) early this week.
