HARARE City moved into second place in Group Two after beating Herentals 2-1 in a Chibuku Super Cup match played at the National Sports Stadium this Saturday.
The Lloyd Chitembwe-coached side garnered its first win of the cup after edging Herentals this Saturday afternoon.
Chitembwe had been under pressure after his side drew the first three matches of the competition but against a struggling Herentals side they found joy.
The win moves The City Fathers into second place on six points one behind Dynamos who play Caps United this Sunday.
For Herentals, its early trouble and they need to start picking up points if they are to challenge for honours.
Elsewhere, in an early kick-off Manica Diamonds picked up their first win of the season after beating Black Rhinos 2-1 at Sakubva Stadium.
In Bulawayo, Chicken Inn concluded the day’s fixtures as they beat Bulawayo Chiefs two-nil at Barbourfields stadium in Bulawayo.
The Harare Derby takes centre stage this Sunday as Caps United square off with Dynamos at 3pm.
Sunday’s action will start with winless Yadah taking on ZPC Kariba in the capital at 11am before Cranborne Bullets vs Tenax and Highlanders vs Bulawayo City kick-off simultaneously.
