Former Caps United midfielder Butler Masango dies

FORMER Caps United midfielder Butler Masango has died. Masango died in South Africa where he was working as a coach and talent scout.

The former Zimbabwe Under-23 and Caps United anchorman, popularly known as Bhatso controlled the midfield for the full 90 mins in the famous Zimbabwe vs Nigeria U23 battle at Rufaro Stadium in 1996.

Nigeria featured big names such as Austin ‘Jay Jay” Okocha, Nwanko Kanu and Celestine Babayaro.

Funeral and burial arrangements for the late Masango who died in South Africa where he was working as a coach will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, the world is mourning former Zimbabwe Netball team manager, Ledwin Dondo who died on Friday with English netball side, Surrey Storm wearing black armbands in their match against Seven Stars in the Vitality league at the weekend.

Dondo is a former Zimbabwe Netball Association president, and was behind the formation of the Super League in 1993.

She who was the Gems team manager at the 2019 World Cup in Liverpool, England will be buried this Wednesday.
