The Zimbabwe national cricket team takes on Pakistan in the first of three T20 internationals at Harare Sports Club this Wednesday.
The Chevrons host Pakistan in three T20 encounters with a lot more than pride at stake.
The hosts, who are coming from a dismal showing against Afghanistan, are however taking confidence from the fact that they have had more game time before the series.
Pakistan are on the other hand fresh from beating South Africa and currently seat fourth on the world rankings while Zimbabwe is number 12.
The two sides have faced each other 14 times and sadly, the Chevrons have never tested victory over the Asian side, hence the need to turn the tables.
“We have a good mixture of Youth and experience, with Taylor and Ervine coming back and the young Marumani and Madhevere doing well in the recent series we have a good blend of youth and experience,” says coach Lalchand Rajput, adding, “I know we have struggled against them but we are optimistic if we do things right and also the game tine we had is going to help us.”
With the T20 World Cup slated for November in India, the Chevrons need to start putting in some good performances.
