AUSTRALIAN based Zimbabwe International, Yolanda Kanyai has expressed interest to play for the Mighty Warriors.
Getting an international call-up is every athlete’s dream, and this is what Australia based forward, Yolanda Kanyai is hoping for.
The former Vainona High School 2014 girls team captain, has asserted herself as the main striker for Australia NorZone Women Premier League club, Casuarina.
Representing your country is every player’s dream so if I get a national team call-up, it will be a great honour. I am just waiting for that day to play for the Mighty Warriors. Of course, I have played several ball sports and at one point I represented Harare at a provincial basketball tourney. However, it was not difficult for me to adjust especially when I attended Vainona High School in 2014 because it was so dominant in football as compared to other ball games. Ultimately I am eyeing for a marriage with the Mighty Warriors, she highlighted.
Kanyai, who joined Casuarina FC in 2016 on a football scholarship won two golden boot awards in her first two seasons with the club before being sidelined by injury in 2018.
Currently, Casuarina is second with an inferior goal difference but have the same number of points as log leaders Port Darwin.
