MHONDORO based Premier Soccer League side, Ngezi Platinum have set their sights on winning silverware as they prepare for the much-awaited resumption of domestic football next month.
Madamburo announced their arrival in the top-flight league by winning the Chibuku Super Cup in 2016 but since then silverware has been elusive.
Head coach Rodwell Dhlakama believes it is now the time for a return on the massive investment the owners have made over the years.
The club has invested heavily and it is time for us to start winning silverware and that is our biggest target to win silverware, he said.
Two of the club’s players Qadr Amini and Devon Chafa are of the view that with the cup competition set to be played in empty stadiums, the players will have to adjust to the new normal.
This is the new normal and yes it will be difficult to play without our fans cheering us but we have to,
We have to find ways of motivating ourselves, it’s not easy but we are preparing for that and we hope we can come out good, they said.
Ngezi Platinum will be looking at adding a few players to their squad as they have lost Captain Frank Makarati, Tichawona Mabvura and James Ngulube.
