Young Tadiwanashe Marumani was the star of the show as Mountaineers beat Tuskers by seven wickets in a T-20 encounter at Harare Sports club this Monday.
Fresh from hitting an impressive 60 in his debut T20 match, 19 year old Marumani followed that up with a 63 not out as he led Rocks to a 7 wicket victory over Tuskers.
Tuskers won the toss and elected to bat and managed a paltry 141 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Rocks who recently won the Logan Cup competition surpassed the target with 143 runs in 17 overs.
Former Prince Edward high school student, Marumani came in to bat in the second over after the early loss of veteran Cephas Zhuwao and with his team still needing 120 runs for victory and he quickly asserted his authority as he scored half of the required runs to lead his team to victory with more than three overs remaining.
His knock included six fours and three sixes as he hit the ball all over the empty Harare Sports Club.
With the squad for the Pakistan series set to be announced this week, the young man has surely put up his name for consideration.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is set to arrive in the country this Saturday ahead of a full tour that starts off with T20s at Harare Sports Club.
