The Warriors have been given a major boost with the France-based duo of striker Tino Kadewere and midfielder Marshal Munetsi now available for Zimbabwe’s AFCON qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia.
It is good news for the Warriors who are set to play the last two Group H AFCON qualifiers beginning this week after the French government exempted foreign players plying their trade in the European nation from the seven-day quarantine period after international duty
The relaxation of restrictions by the French government means that the ball is now in ZIFA’s court to bring in Tinotenda Kadewere and Marshal Munetsi for the crucial matches against Botswana and Zambia.
Although ZIFA could not clarify the travelling logistics for the duo, the inclusion of the two in the final 23-men squad announced by Coach Zdravko Logarusic this Monday is a hint that the players might make it for the ties.
Kadewere’s brother, Prosper confirmed that the Lyon striker’s papers to travel for the AFCON qualifiers are in place.
With the British-brigade ruled out of the qualifiers, other notable absentees are strikers Prince Dube and Knox Mtizwa, star forward Khama Billiat, and left-back Divine Lunga due to injuries.
Interestingly, Highlanders number one Ariel Thulani Sibanda is the only local-based player to make it in the final 23.
