ZIMBABWE has entered into a joint pact with Zambia that will be pivotal in deepening regional integration through industrialisation.
In a first of its kind in trade and economic relations between the two sisterly republics, the Zambia-Zimbabwe Joint Industrialisation Project presents a perfect platform to elevate regional integration through industrialisation.
This Thursday, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Sekai Nzenza and her Zambian counterpart put pen to paper to kick-start this pact.
“The Project is well in line with the recently launched National Development Strategy One whose objective is to promote new enterprise growth, job creation, macro-economic Stability strengthen inter regional trade and building regional markets,” said Hon Dr Sekai Nzenza, Minister of Industry and Commerce.
The agreement is set to provide an edge in the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement, COMESA Free Trade Area and the Tripartite Agreement in a development that will open up the space for Zimbabwe to increase its market share in line with the National Development Strategy One.
