The football community is thrilled over the possible resumption of the country’s most popular sport after the Sports and Recreation Commission cleared the way for the return of high-risk sport codes.
“We are ready for the resumption of football and you can see by the signings we did and we can’t wait to win the league,” says Dynamos Secretary-General, Webster Marechera.
Violet Jubane, Central Region administrator, said, “The football community had been crippled. Now that there is a possibility, we are excited and we have been teaching our clubs on how to exist in the new normal.”
Chicken Inn CEO Tavengwa Hara weighed in, “Football is an industry and so many aspects had been affected. Now sponsors can get value for money and probably we can attract new sponsorship.”
An investigation by this news crew also revealed that clubs have already started contacting players in anticipation of the imminent return of the game.
