Elections for Bosso executive gather momentum

The race to land top posts in the Highlanders Football Club executive is getting tighter, with aspiring candidates confident of victory ahead of the poll set for the 28th of this month.

Incumbent Chairman, Kenneth Mhlophe who is battling it out with Johnfat Sibanda for the top post is banking on his track record.

“I introduced financial discipline and under my stewardship we freed the club from its debt. I managed to keep the club afloat during trying times when NetOne terminated its sponsorship. I recently secured a mining claim for the club which is set to improve its financial situation,” said Mhlophe.

Aspiring Secretary General Morgan Dube who is gunning for the same post with Israel Moyo has also outlined his vision anchored on bringing back the glory days.

“Highlanders is an established football brand. Over the past years the club has been trying to reconfigure but now it’s time to define our success through earning silverware. That’s exactly what I am going to focus on,” he said.  

Outgoing Committee Member Wisdom Mabhena who has served two terms will step down and watch Mgcini Mafu and Bheka Sibanda Square off for the vacant post.
