Youths urged to participate in economy

Youths are the future and their active participation in key economic pillars that include agriculture and mining is critical if the country is to achieve an upper middle income economy by 2030.

The call was made by Zanu PF youth leaders who met in Bindura for the provincial youth executive meeting that saw Cde Esrom Nhete being appointed Acting Chairperson to replace the late liberation hero, Lens Farando Ruwizhi.

“We implore the youth to get involved in government programmes. We have Pfumvudza, we have mining activities all meant to empower the youth so they should not be lackadaisical, but get involved,” said Cde John Nhamburo, Zanu PF Central Committee Member.

Zanu PF Youth League National Executive Member, Cde Paul Rwodzi said, “As youth we must have unity of purpose, we are saying were there is unity youths can get very far.”

The newly-elected Zanu PF provincial youth chairperson, Cde Esrom Nhete committed to carry on the legacy of development left by his predecessor.

He said, “This is the time for the youth to embrace the development trajectory that our government is pursuing.”

Youths also resolved to mobilize more supporters for the ruling party at the meeting which was the first since last year due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
