Warriors getting ready for AFCON qualifiers

ZIMBABWE’S senior football men’s team, the warriors are getting ready for the back to back AFCON qualifiers game against Botswana and Zambia end of this month.
Despite travel bans in many European countries limiting the movement of most foreign based players, Zimbabwe prepares to take on Zambia and Botswana this month with the available players. European based players are the ones mostly affected by the covid-19 travel bans leaving the warriors coach, Zdravko Logarusic to depend on African based and a few local based players.
Warriors manager, Wellington Mpandare said, “Of the thirty-eight players that were called into camp, we are failing to secure those in UK and France though there are still negotiations going on.”
European based players who are were affected by the travel ban include Marvelous Nakamba, Tatenda Mukuruva, Jordan Zemura, Tendai Darikwa, David Moyo, Brandon Galloway and Tino Kadewere. Some key players like Khama Billiat and Prince Dube have been affected by injuries though Prince Dube recently bounced back in action he is still not that fit to play the whole game.
Mpandare said that they added four players that is Perfect Chikwende, Last Jesi, Kevin Moyo and Takudzwa Chimwemwe to replace those who confirmed that they won’t make it due to travel bans.
Local based players and the technical team are expected to get into camp today the 12th of March and the foreign based players will be expected into camp from the 21st of March.
The warriors will leave for Botswana on the 24th of this month, to play against Botswana on the 25th in Francistown then come back to Zimbabwe on the 26th to prepare the home match against Zambia on the 29th.
Here is the squad from foreign based players who have confirmed their availability for these two games: Talbert Shumba, Nelson Chadya, Ariel Sibanda, Martin Mapisa, Jimmy Dzingai, Alec Mudimu, Teenage Hadebe, Devine Lunga, Tendai Jirira, Nyasha Munetsi, Butholezwe Ncube, Ovidy Karuru, Tafadzwa Rusike, Kuda Mahachi, Prince Dube, Knowledge Musona, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Victor Kamhuka, Romario Matova, Knox Mtizwa, Tanaka Chinyahara, Thabani Kamusoko, Evans Rusike, Perfect Chikwende, Last Jesi, Kevin Moyo and Takudzwa Chimwemwe.
