Dr Beauty Mutsambiwa has been elected as the new Zimbabwe Handball Federation president following an elective Annual General Meeting held this Friday at Girls High School in Harare.
On Wednesday, the Sports and Recreation Commission gave the green light to 24 National Sport Associations to resume training and other sporting activities, including the Zimbabwe Handball Federation (ZHF).
This saw the ZHF finally holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Friday after it had been postponed in January when all sporting activities were banned due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The election, which was presided over by the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, saw Dr Beauty Mutsambiwa beating incumbent president Stewart Sanhewe by seven (7) votes to three (3) thereby duly elected ZHF president for the next 4 years.
Dr Mutsambiwa spoke about the task at hand.
“Now it’s the time to work, we have to eat what we kill, we need to employ entrepreneurship skills if we want to be successful. At the end of my tenure I want to leave this office knowing that handball is business in Zimbabwe,” Dr Mutsambiwa said.
Reginald Tsimba was elected vice-president while Petros Nyathi and Clemence Tauro will be the committee members.
