Zimbabwe international midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba was once again at his usual best when helped Aston Villa to a 1-nil victory away to Leeds this Saturday.
Nakamba was on top of his game once again in the middle of the park as The Claret and Blue edged Leeds 1-0 away at Ellan Road Stadium this Saturday.
The Zimbabwean who was handed his fourth league start this season by Coach Dean Smith made more ball recoveries and more interceptions than any other Villa player against Leeds.
He won five duels, committed no foul and incredibly made six interceptions for the Villans.
We restricted them some space they wanted to run into and we defended very well. It’s great we won and I am happy we took responsibility defensively even without the ball but we always looked fair in attack. Overally the performance is pleasing especially considering last year’s performance and it’s a big team effort and I salute the guys for their efforts and as a coach I’m really pleased because a lot of people couldn’t believe we could win without Jack ,said the team’s coach.
To add icing on the cake, Villa’s writer Ashley Preece gave Nakamba an 8/10 match rating, while further describing him as an octopus.
Each time that the 27-year old Warriors midfield maestro has started, Villa has managed to keep a clean sheet, a phenomenon which has left others describing the player as Coach Smith’s “Lucky Charm”,he said.
Meanwhile, another Warrior, Prince Dube has picked up from where he left before being injured and continues to excite fans with his excellent goal scoring form.
The former Bosso striker once again helped his Tanzanian side, Azam to an impressive 1-0 victory over Mbuni FC in the Azam Sports Federation Cup clash.
