THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) says it is ready for the resumption of football after putting in place the necessary measures for the government to give them a green light.
The Zimbabwe Football Association applied to the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) to be allowed to resume football activities following a blanket ban on all sporting activities to curtail the spread of Covid-19.
As ZIFA waits for a response, Premier Soccer League Chairperson Farai Jere said the PSL is geared for the resumption of football.
As Caps United we are ready for the resumption and speaking as PSL chairman we have the vaccines coming and that is going to help the situation,
The clubs are ready, we have a blue print from the government when we trained for 2 months and for me that is a case study and remember there were no incidents, we have a blueprint and my clubs know of them and they are ready to start football, he said.
Dynamos Spokesperson Yvonne Mangunda spoke on the club’s preparedness noting that as a team they were only waiting for matches to resume as they have all the modalities in place.
Financially we are in a good position, we have a sponsor who is helping us with everything and we are ready to start anytime, said Mangunda.
Hopes are high as indications on the ground are that the SRC will be tabling a response this coming week.
