ZAMBIA based Zimbabwe international Takudzwa Gilroy Chimwemwe is excited at the prospect of playing in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup saying it will open windows of opportunity as he eyes a bigger league.
Chimwemwe’s Nkana FC are through to the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage after dismissing Casablanca of Morocco 3-2 on aggregate.
The development has excited Zimbabwe international Chimwemwe who says the continental competition is a good platform to showcase his talent in anticipation of a bigger move.
It feels great to be part of Nkana FC which has qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage. It is a big thing for me as a player and I feel honoured. I hope to go far away in these tournament s because you don’t know who will be watching these matches so it’s a big opportunity for me as a player I might end playing somewhere big I will only leave it to God but it is indeed a great feeling,he said.
The 28-year-old defender joined Nkana last month from another Zambian side Buildcon on a two-year contract alongside former FC Platinum defender Kelvin Moyo.
Nkana who are under the guidance of former Highlanders Coach Kelvin Kaindu will face Pyramids of Egypt in their first group stage encounter in Cairo next week.
