Caps United midfielder, Blessing Sarupinda is set to complete a dream move to Europe with the player undergoing trials at Portuguese third division side, Sporting Clube.
Sarupinda will carve his name in the annals of history by becoming the first Zimbabwean player in post-independence era to ply his trade in Portugal, should he pass his trials at Olhanense.
The 22-year-old who left the country on Friday is already in Portugal for his trial stint.
Confirming the development, Sarupinda’s manager, Motion Mbano said given enough time to prove himself, the young midfielder has what it takes to make the grade in the Portuguese league.
“Yes indeed, Blessing Sarupinda the 22-year-old Caps United utility player is in Portugal for trials with Sporting Clube which is in third division league. He is there at the request of that club which I find being an advantage to him.
“I believe it is positive development for Caps United but is should not be drawn to comment on behalf of the club at this juncture,” he said.
Mbano added, “As for Blessing I trust he’s going to make the grade and a deal will materialize in no time, his talent is undoubted and the young man is very disciplined, dedicated and willing to learn which I find being very key tenets for a player who wants to do well in the best leagues in this league.
“I foresee him doing well and I believe the third-tier league is just a launchpad for the player. But be that as it may he has to focus with doing well at Sporting Clube at least for now.”
The midfielder once turned out for army side Black Rhinos as a central striker in 2018 before switching to the green and white army the following season.
