MIGHTY Warriors Captain, Emmaculate Msipa is looking forward to a memorable stint in Spain, where she is set to turn out for CF Joventut Almassora in the Segunda Women Division.

The skipper left Harare for Spain this Wednesday morning.

Msipa, who signed a one-year performance based contract with the club, said she is determined to work hard and inspire other local footballers to aim higher.

I am going to give my all in Spain and uplift the girl child. I want others to follow in my footprints and achieve more so as to develop the women’s game in the country. It has always been my dream to play abroad and I thank God for the opportunity, she said.

The Mighty Warriors skipper also paid tribute to everyone who was pivotal in the build up to her playing career.

I want to thank Black Rhinos, the Mighty Warriors, my coaches and everyone who supported me during this journey as a footballer. It wasn’t easy at first but I thank God I managed to pull through. It is my hope that I will utilise his opportunity to raise Zimbabwe’s flag high and open avenues for other girls who wish to advance in football as their chosen career path, noted Msipa.

Msipa took over the Mighty Warriors armband during the COSAFA 2020 tournament and her signing by a Spanish club marks the beginning of a new chapter for her and the women’s game in Zimbabwe as more players go to play abroad.
