FC Platinum suffer injury blow ahead of their clash against Simba SC

ZIMBABWEAN Champions, FC Platinum are ready to take on Simba SC of Tanzania in a CAF Champions League encounter set for the National Sports Stadium this Wednesday.

The platinum miners will be facing a team that has been playing competitive football while the game is still under lockdown in Zimbabwe.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza said although they are likely to miss two players due to injury, home advantage will be key.

“We are definitely going to be without Silas Songani who picked up an injury in the last encounter and we are also going to assess Ralph Kawondera if he will be able to play that is in terms of the health.

“As a team we are ready and we are not giving any excuses we need to do well and play to our strengths we are at home and we need to take that advantage,” he said.

Simba SC qualified for the first round after knocking out Plateau United of Nigeria 1-0 on aggregate.

On the other hand, FC Platinum dispatched Mozambique’s Costa dol Sol 4-1 Over two legs.
