Zimbabwe professional golfer Robson Chinhoi continues to shine after bagging the Uganda Open Championship crown in Kampala.
Chinhoi is raising Zimbabwe’s flag high on the Safari Tour after he was crowned the Tusker Malt Lager Uganda Professionals Open Champion.
He shrugged off intense competition from 79 other golfers from Africa, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Canada, scoring an impressive 15-under at the par 72 Uganda Golf Open at Kitante, Kampala.
He attributed the success to hard work and is also positive he will achieve more given his current form
“I am happy to have won this accolade it means a lot to me and my country, Zimbabwe. I will continue to work hard and aim to achieve more great things. Hard work has been the greatest strength and inspiration and I believe there’s no short cut to success except putting your all in practice and perfect it then execute, and remain focused.”
The Zimbabwean scored a total of 273 over four rounds of competitive action from the 3rd to the 6th of this month.
The Uganda Open is the 5th in a series of tournaments that will constitute the 2020/21 Safari Tour, which will see golfers play in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, culminating with the 2021 Magical Kenya Open to be hosted at the Karen Country Club in March next year.
