The Zimbabwe Young Warriors saved face after bowing out of the COSAFA Under- 20 Championship with a thumping 4-1 win over Lesotho at the Gelvandale stadium in South Africa this Tuesday
Having started the match with their fate out of their hands but still with a chance of progressing to the semi-finals, the Young Warriors got off to a good start and took the lead in the 19th minute courtesy of an own goal by Lethalo Monyaka.
Tawanda Mandivenga would soon find the back of the net, just 3 minutes later and with 10 minutes to go before halftime Kudzai Mangiza made sure the game was safe.
However, Lesotho pulled one goal back in added time before the breather.
In the second half, it was more of consolidation and Prince Edward forward Bill Antonio restored the 3 goal cushion for the Young Warriors and they would hold on to win the match 4-1.
The Tonderai Ndiraya-coached side now returns home, while the top two sides in the group Mozambique and hosts South Africa proceed to the semi-finals which get underway this Thursday.
