ALL is set for the re-opening of the country’s borders for motorists and pedestrians, with more staff and equipment having been deployed.
Reports say health personnel from the Ministry of Health and Child Care have been testing officials at the border posts for COVID-19 to ensure all workers are ready when the borders re-open this Tuesday.
It has also been confirmed that new standard operating procedures for handling travellers have been drawn up.
This comes after Home Affairs Minister, Honourable Kazembe Kazembe met his South African counterpart, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi in Beitbridge last Friday to ensure Zimbabwe’s busiest border is prepared for reopening.
Beitbridge is among the country’s five major border posts which include Forbes, Chirundu, Plumtree and Victoria Falls.
