THE Warriors are in bullish mood ahead of their Group H AFCON qualifier against Algeria at the National Sports Stadium this Monday.
The Warriors held their final training session this Sunday at the National Sports Stadium with the boys looking confident and relaxed ahead of the match against the Desert Foxes.
Head coach Zdravko Logarusic promised improved performance, after full training sessions with the whole squad.
“History means nothing, yes they are the African champions and haven’t lost in more than 20 games but come tomorrow we are going to change that and break that history, we need to make our own history. Why should we fail when we have Khama, Tino, Knowledge, Nakamba and many others,” he said.
France based Striker, Tino Kadewere who scored the solitary Warriors goal in a 3-1 defeat in Algeria last Thursday echoed the same sentiments.
“We have trained hard and rectified the mistakes that we made, now its time to show what we can do, it’s not gonna be easy but this is the time to show what we can do because we are ready,” he said.
Captain, Knowledge Musona highlighted added that the team is aware of the significance of the encounter.
“Yes it’s a very important encounter and we know what it means but we are ready and we are not under any pressure to prove anything, we just need to show up tomorrow and play like real warriors because that is who we are,” he said.
The match will be played in an empty National Sports Stadium due to Covid-19 restrictions but the team can count on support from other guests who know no restrictions. It’s not yet done or die for the Warriors but a loss this Monday could have far-reaching consequences.
