Women’s cricket action resumes this weekend

LOCAL women’s cricket resumes this weekend, with some
exciting T20 and Fifty over matches lined up in Harare and Kwekwe.
While much of the focus has been on the Chevrons tour of
Pakistan where Zimbabwe lost the limited-overs series, attention now shifts to
the domestic women’s game where four matches will be played in Harare and
Kwekwe between Friday and Saturday.
In the Women’s T20, log leaders Eagles take on
second-placed Tuskers at Kwekwe Sports Club on a Friday, Mountaineers clash
against Rhinos in a bottom of the table encounter at Takashinga in Highfield.
Cricket fans will also be in for a treat on Saturday as
the Fifty50 Challenge identically takes centre stage.
Kwekwe Sports Club hosts second-placed Eagles and logs
anchors Tuskers, while Rhinos who are on third, date table-toppers Mountaineers
in what is expected to be the game of the week at Takashinga Cricket Club.
Meanwhile, the Chevrons are back home from their
disappointing tour of Pakistan.
Since it was their first tour post-Covid-19, it is hoped
that Zimbabwe will learn from their mistakes and improve in their next
assignments.
