The Batanai housing projects are being implemented through funding by the National Building Society, Met Bank and NMB, while government is also implementing the Crownlands housing project for civil servants in the same town.
Vice president Mohadi described as critical the need for provision of adequate, decent and affordable housing.
“As the people’s government we realise that the quest for provision of adequate, decent, affordable and sustainable housing and social amenities is critical,” he said.

“We all have the responsibility to work extra hard in transforming the ambience and aesthetics of our cities, towns and growth points to ensure conformity with acceptable standards.”
National Housing and Social Amenities Minister, Cde Daniel Garwe civil servants will be given priority in the allocation of housing units.
“Additionally, civil service housing shall be given priority across the board. A case in point is the ministry’s intention to ensure completion of the 677 high to medium density stands at Crownlands, a government-initiated housing project with a view to ensure beneficiary occupation on a coat recovery basis,” he said.
The Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs, Cde Mary Mliswa said the delivery of affordable and decent is a priority for the second republic.
“The delivery of comfortable housing is at the centre of HIS Excellency President Mnangagwa’s vision and this is evidenced by the creation of the ministry of national housing and social amenities,” she said.
Meanwhile, Vice president Mohadi and Minister Garwe made an undertaking to deal decisively with land barons selling state land to unsuspecting home-seekers.
