THE 2020 Virtual Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo running from the 22nd to the 23rd of this month is expected to give tourism players an opportunity to network with various global source markets.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is finalising preparations for the 2020 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo which this year will take a different format due to gathering and travel restrictions.
The 2020 Virtual Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo has generated a lot of interest with over 150 exhibitors having registered to participate.
ZTA National Convention Bureau Acting Executive Director, Ms Pauline Ndlovu encouraged local exhibitors to participate and update source markets on their preparedness for reopening of the sector.
“The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority will be hosting its first virtual Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo from the 22nd to the 23rd of October. To date we have over 150 exhibitors who have registered to participate on the virtual platform,” she said.
According to information from the country’s tourism marketing body, over 100 tourism buyers representing key source markets have also registered to participate.
The virtual expo will be complemented by webinar sessions which run from the 21st to the 23rd of this month.
The expo which will be first of its kind in Africa will allow participants to hold meetings from the comfort of their offices.
Virtual expos have become the new trend to showcase products and services in the face of Covid-19 induced travel restrictions.
