Zimbabwe continue to record more Covid-19 local transmissions. A total number of 133 people tested positive for Covid-19 today. These include 116 local transmissions and 17 returnees from South Africa.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care revealed that of the 116 local transmissions, only 22 are contacts of a known confirmed case.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is investigating the contacts of other 94 cases.
All cases recorded in Bulawayo and Midlands are local transmissions, with Bulawayo recording 36 new cases and Midlands recording 38 new cases. Harare recorded the highest number of new cases, having recorded 57 new cases.
The total number of confirmed cases in Zimbabwe now stands at 1611, whereby 791 are local cases. 25 people have succumbed to covid-19 while 472 people have recovered.
